Toile Card

Just another card I created as a tribute to Glinda. The size of this card is 6x6.

I used the Toile Stamp set from CTMH and the DS Bella Rose paper.

I happened to luck out and had some grosgrain ribbon and brads that almost resemble the Riding Hood Red ink.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Toile - CTMH
Paper: Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Other: Brads, Bella Rose DS Paper, Ribbon

Sympathy Card Swap

This is my contribution to maxiemom's swap at the Stamp Shack.

I found it really difficult to make sympathy cards as I always like to personalize them according to the family, but I guess having some on hand doesn't hurt either.

I started out with one colour that I normally would not use - Garden Green. I then matched it with Certain Celery using my SU Colour Wheel. If you don't have one of these, they are the handiest tool I have ever purchased!

I stamped the sentiment first on the bottom right hand corner. Then using my Leafy Branch Cuttlebug folder, I embossed. I gave the leaves some colours using my chalks in Certain Celery, Garden Green and Close to Cocoa.

I added two eyelets at the top left hand corner and mounted it onto Garden Green and then Certain Celery, and then onto my main cs with pop ups.

A fairly simple card!

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Close as a Memory
Paper: Garden Green, Certain Celery, Whisper White
Ink: Garden Green
Other: Eyelets, Chalks, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

Tribute to Glinda

A fellow stamper from the Stamp Shack passed away and Tami put out a challenge to all Shackies to CASE a card of Glinda's.

Here is my tribute to Glinda and here is her card.

I stamped the bird on the pot in black ink and water coloured it - using my chalks. I gave the bird a little highlight using the GellyRoll Startust Clear glitter pen.

After colouring the image, I sponged Certain Celery and then Always Artichoke for the grass and Soft Sky and Night of Navy for the sky.

I am going to send a copy to her family!

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Serene Spring, Bella Toile
Paper: Whisper White, So Saffron, Night of Navy, Soft Sky
Ink: Night of Navy, Soft Sky, Black, Certain Celery, Always Artichoke
Other: Brads, Nestibilities, Corner Punch

Splitcoast Challenge x3

This is my first ever Splitcoast challenge and I have already managed to mess it up.

I did however, combine 3 challenges together.

I had difficulty inking up the stamp evenly, and even managed to waste a whole sheet of So Saffron as well as tissue paper - needless to say, I only made one card!

The first one Featured Stamper - Barbara. That was the most difficult choice to make! Once I chose her card, I decided to check out the other challenges and thought maybe I could combine them all. I kept the layout the same, changed the ribbon, and add the two word window punchouts at the top. I hope that was enough.

The second challenge was for Monday, but I soon realized that it was for two Monday`s ago challenge - Faux Silk with a Pop.

The last challenge being Tuesday's Colour Challenge - Bravo Burgundy, So Saffron & Handsome Hunter.

All three challenges took some thinking out, but all in all, I think it turned out ok. I am pleased with with results!

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Magenta
Paper: Whisper White, So Saffron, Bravo Burgundy, Handsome Hunter
Ink: Handsome Hunter
Other: Tissue Paper, Brads

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Tuesday. I hope I get some time to play with tomorrow's challenge.

Gift Card Set for Boss

This is a gift set I had made for my boss, whose favourite colour is purple. Sorry for the washed out colours, but it is actually prettier in real life.

Purple is really not my colour and found it really challenging to match the colours.

There are 8 cards in total. Below are just samples of what the cards look like.

I used the two flowers from Heartfelt Thanks and the greetings from Sincere Salutations.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Heartfelt Thanks, Sincere Salutations

Paper: Perfect Plum, Lovely Lilac

Ink: Perfect Plum, Lovely Lilac

Other: Cuttlebug, Nestibilities

Thanks for stopping by! This is the end of my gifts!

Owen's Card

My DS wanted to make a card using the Garfield paper. He's only 7 years old but he wanted to make a card on his own for his teacher.

Teachers' Gifts

Here are the tin sleighs packed of various treats for the teachers. They were a hit!

In it, there is a coaster, chocolates, a hot chocolate package, a candy tree and a gift card to Chapters.

Below are the individual pieces I made.

This is the front of the hot chocolate pouch. This is not my idea, I just borrowed it. I am sorry, but I can't remember who from.

I used a piece of 12 x 6 close to cocoa card stock and scored at 3" and then at 6".

I cuttledbug 3/4 of the white panel using the ornament embossing folder and adhered it to the front of the holder.

Using the Like it a Latte set, I stamped the cup and the foam part in Chocolate Chip. I then masked the foam part and stamped the straws in Real Red. To give it the foam, I used Liquid Applique and heated it up. Corner punched each corner and mounted it onto a scrap piece of real red cs. As I didn't have any white brads on hand, I used my white gel pen to make it look like brads.

I then stamped "warmest wishes" in Chocolate Chip from an old retired set - All Year Cheer I. I keep thinking I need to get rid of these sets, but I am glad that I still have them!

I then took a piece of the Riding Hood Red/Vanilla grosgrain ribbon and tied a knot in the middle, adhered the ends to the back of the white cs.
Here is what the inside of the of the hot chocolate holder. I had cut the end on a diagonal from the top corner to about an inch on the bottom and using a piece of sticky strip, adhered the end piece.

I attached the gift card to the other side of the hot chocolate holder.

Stamp the saying on a piece of white cs scrap and then mounted it onto real red.

Here are the litte gift bags I made to hold Icy Squares. Jut love these chocolates!

These were much easier to make than I thought.

Here are the dimensions:

Red CS (inside):

2 1/2 x 8 7/8", scored at 3, 4, 7 and 8" and at 1" for the candy holder.

Cut holder piece on scored lines on the short side, cutting the last small corner (1") off. Put together with d/s sticky tape.

For the vellum (outside):

3x11" piece scored at 5" and 6"

Stamp vellum using white craft ink and then the sentiment in real red, secure top on with adhesive or fasten with brads or ribbon or whatever you wish. Fill holder with candy and you have a sweet gift for someone special!

I also made a little bag like this for my nieces to put lip gloss in it as part of their gift!

Here are the Christmas Tree treats I made for one of my son's classmates as well as for the teachers, secretaries and the girls in the office.

Thanks to Andrea Walford's Tutorial.

I didn't make mine as big as hers and only used 3-4 pieces of candy on each skewer stick. I love the look of these together in a basket!

Here is a tree on its own. I did make bigger ones for the teachers.

Here are the final gifts in the sleigh.

This is the coffee coaster.

This the Garfield coaster I made for my other son's teacher, who informed me that she absolutely loves Garfield! I searched for Garfield stamps, but couldn't find one, so I settled for some paper I found at my local stamp store.

I cut out the Garfield and modge podged it onto the tile coaster.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed these gifts as much as the teachers did!

Gift for Piano Teacher

Text Color
This is my Christmas gift for the boys' piano teacher. I usually make a set of cards for her and came across these stickers from the $$ store.

The cards are 4x4" in size. I made up the pizza box to fit 8 cards.

I saved the grand piano sticker for the coaster as I knew it would suit the perfect gift for Sue. She is one talented lady as she also teaches voice lessons as well.

I had put the box of cards and coaster in a metal sleigh along with some chocolates and a tree treat, wrapped and guess what, I forgot to take a picture of it! Bummer!

Here is a close up of the coaster. It may look a little blurry, but the sticker had a lot of prism to it and is much prettier in real life.

Below are a few examples of the cards. You can see that I scored the edges using my Score-pal. I then mounted it onto a piece of River Rock and then onto the black.

This is a close up of the box.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: PSX Tree, Winter Post
Paper: Black cs, River Rock cs, Whisper White cs
Ink: Black
Other: Stickers, Score-Pal
Thanks for stopping by!

Non Traditional Christmas Card

It has been a long time since I've posted as I have been working very hard trying to get all my gifts made. This is my non-traditional Christmas Card using the Frosty Days DS paper. I wasn't quite sure about it in the beginning, but it seems to have grown on me.

This was also the first time I have made an origami tree and decided to teach this at my Hostess Appreciation Nite. The card was a hit!

I cut the top note in Very Vanilla. I stamped the skaters from the Winter Post Stamp set. Watercolour and then masked the skaters and stamped the trees in the background. As I did not have my Lovely as a Tree Stamp set so Iused another tree stamp (I believe it was PSX) I had that was similar. I inked the tree up in Garden Green and then using my Chocolate Chip marker, I drew in the trunk. Gave it a huff and stamped it a few times to give the effect that these trees were further back.

Now to make the origami tree, you need four squares, cut to size as follows:

Folded Tree Directions

You'll need 4 pieces of DSP cut 1 of each size

3"x 3", 2 1/2" x 2 1/2", 2" x 2", 1 1/2" x 1 1/2", and 1" x 1"

Fold them all as follows: Fold in 1/2 open up fold diagonal open fold diagonal other way open up lay flat - now fold in the sides so you have what looks like a triangle fold left and right sides of the triangle in towards the middle -- repeat with other pieces. Stack on top of each other to form the tree.

I then tied a bow at the top.

This is just a close up of the tree.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: PSX Tree, Winter Post
Paper: Tangy Orange cs, Very Vanilla cs, Wild Wasabi textured cs
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Garden Green
Other: Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon, Top Note Die Cut
